    Strategies for Managing Workers' Health

    Presenter: Brian Berchtold, hubbub health

    Jan. 30, 2014, 2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. PT
    Program length: 60 minutes

Your first night out as a teenager was nerve-wracking for your parents, but you came home safely and the car was still in one piece.

It's a lesson worth remembering as you empower your workers to make decisions about their health. Too many employers have become paternalistic in their efforts to control population health. But these days, people are taking control of their own healthy behaviors. And they’re doing it for themselves, not for their boss or HR director. Employers need to learn to “hand over the keys” of wellness to their employees for maximum results, understanding that individuals are ready to handle their own health decisions.

During this webcast, Brian Berchtold of hubbub health will describe what it takes for an employer to bring about a culture of health led by employees, not from the top down. Learn the benefits they see when employees own their solutions and successes.

Why not put your employees in the driver’s seat and give them the keys? Good things can happen.

About the presenter: Brian Berchtold is Director of Business Development at hubbub health. He recently presented at The World Congress 2nd Annual Prevention & Wellness and the Annual American Heart Association Worksite Wellness Summit (Oregon). Mr. Berchtold serves on the planning committee for Healthy Worksite Summit, Washington. He is Board Chair of Playworks Portland, a national nonprofit organization that supports learning by providing safe, healthy and inclusive play and physical activity to low-income schools at recess. Mr. Berchtold truly “walks the talk.” While participating on hubbub, he has lost over 30 pounds, eliminated four risk factors and is no longer pre-diabetic.
